Question 1

What exactly does ALIGN do?

Accepted Answer

ALIGN turns an iPad into a clinically accurate capture station. Your before photo stays visible on the left while the live camera view runs on the right, with customizable grid lines and on-screen notes, so any staff member can reproduce the exact same framing every time.

Question 2

Why side-by-side instead of ghosting?

Accepted Answer

Ghosting is dead. Overlaying a faded photo on the live view takes too much time to shoot. Keeping the before photo up beside the live view lets you direct the patient's movements and capture beautifully accurate photos far faster — and more consistently.

Question 3

Do I need a special camera?

Accepted Answer

No. ALIGN performs equally well on an iPad alone or tethered to a compatible Canon camera, with every core function available in either setup. A Canon camera often provides richer detail, stronger image quality and more zoom flexibility.

Question 4

What is customizable within ALIGN?

Accepted Answer

Admins can build procedure-specific photo sequences, alignment guides, framing grids, camera settings and on-screen notes. Fitzpatrick skin tone information can be selected on the initial photo and saved to the patient, while staff permissions help protect the standards you set.

Question 5

Does my team need photography experience?

Accepted Answer

None. You build the templates and workflows once; your staff simply follows the on-screen notes and grid lines. There is only one way to take the photos — your way.

Question 6

How do before and after comparisons work?

Accepted Answer

Two photos sit side by side. Swipe up or down on either side to change it — set the left to pre-op and the right to post-op day 1, then day 2, then month 3, without leaving the screen.

Question 7

Is anything like this already on the market?

Accepted Answer

No. ALIGN is the first software of its kind — faster and more consistent than anything your team has used before.

Question 8

Who is ALIGN built for?

Accepted Answer

Medical aesthetics — med spas, dermatologists and plastic surgeons — plus dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery, cosmetic and aesthetic dental practices, and facial esthetics or dento-facial aesthetics practices.

Question 9

Can it handle both facial and intraoral series?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Build separate templates and workflows for portrait, 45°, profile and intraoral views, each with its own framing, settings, grids and notes.

Question 10

What is clinical photography software?

Accepted Answer

Clinical photography software standardizes how patient photos are captured, stored and compared. ALIGN does this with side-by-side capture, procedure templates, grid lines and on-screen notes, so before and after photos match visit after visit.

Question 11

What's the best camera for dental photography?

Accepted Answer

With ALIGN you can use an iPad on its own or connect a Canon camera via USB. The iPad is simple and fast; a Canon camera adds richer detail and zoom for intraoral and portrait series. Every core feature works in either setup.

Question 12

Is ALIGN a HIPAA-compliant photo app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All ALIGN photo storage is HIPAA compliant, photos are available on any logged-in iPad, and administrators control what each staff member can access.

Question 13

Is patient imagery stored securely?

Accepted Answer

All photo storage is HIPAA compliant, and images are accessible from any other iPad with login credentials. Access is role-based and every view, export and deletion is logged.

Question 14

Can I control what staff can see and do?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The admin sets parameters and login access for every staff member, including which workflows they can use and which patients they can view.

Question 15

Who owns the images?

Accepted Answer

You do. Your practice owns all captured media and can export the full library at any time.

Question 16

Can ALIGN support clinical studies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Standardized templates and repeatable workflows make ALIGN well suited to long-term photographic tracking for clinical studies, patient portfolios and outcomes analysis where consistency matters over time.

Question 17

What does ALIGN cost?

Accepted Answer

ALIGN PHOTO is $149/month with 3 provider logins, unlimited staff logins, unlimited practice locations and unlimited photo storage. ALIGN PHOTO & VIDEO is $199/month with 3 provider logins, unlimited staff logins, unlimited practice locations and unlimited photo storage, plus 1TB of video storage. Additional providers on ALIGN PHOTO and ALIGN PHOTO & VIDEO cost $49/month each beyond the three included. Additional video storage on ALIGN PHOTO & VIDEO costs $15/month per 1TB. Question 18

Accepted Answer

The ALIGN PHOTO & VIDEO subscription also includes 1TB of video storage, with additional 1TB increments available for $15/month each.
